We give particular thanks for the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives and communities, and the ways in which each of us has been called to serve-- inside and outside the walls of the Cathedral. We receive in Baptism an invitation to serve as, what we like to call a ministry partner. Each of us is called in particular ways and at discrete times to participate in making God’s Kingdom manifest.

We are not mere volunteers (a term which indicates our own volition). As ministry partners, we understand that responding to the call to serve is a process of discernment, a genuine response to and participation in God’s kingdom being made real in Denver. For each of us, responding to God’s call, serving as a ministry partner, takes a different shape and form. We welcome you as you deepen your relationship with God in this parish community and take a next right step in your Christian formation.

Faith in Action: Together in Service, Education, and Advocacy

Serving at Saint John's
There are a variety of opportunities to serve at Saint John's. Opportunities range from serving in classrooms with our children and youth, behind the scenes to helping maintain the facility, to serving during services as an acolyte or verger. List of opportunities >

Serving in the Community
Reaching outside of the walls of Saint John's, you can serve in areas such as building homes with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at Rainbow Alley or reaching out to your neighborhood through a variety of agencies that Saint John's supports. Throughout Saint John's rich history, its leaders and members have been advocates for Denver's marginalized, through efforts such as founding the United Way and working for civil rights. Our outreach work continues under a group of volunteers which meets regularly to oversee agency grants, plan educational events and organize service opportunities. Serving in the Community >
