Friday, October 22, 7:30 pm - The Monteverdi Soloists
Virtuosic Music of the Early Baroque
Virtuosic singers and period instrument players perform Italian music of the early 1600s, including Frescobaldi canzonas, Castello sonatas, Monteverdi madrigals, and works by Cima and Cesare. An ensemble of renowned early music specialists from the Netherlands and the East and West coasts, The Monteverdi Soloists include Amanda Balestrieri (soprano), Marjorie Bunday (mezzo-soprano), Daniel Hutchings (tenor), Robert Gardner (baritone), Mimi Mitchell (Baroque violin), James Miller (cornetto), and Michael Holmes (sackbutt). This concert is a prelude to Colorado's
only scheduled performance of the Monteverdi Vespers of 1610 in Denver and Boulder. Tickets are available at www.earlymusiccolorado.org or by calling 303-442-3770 x. 139.

Friday, November 5, 7:30 pm - New York Polyphony
New York Polyphony is establishing itself as one of the finest classical vocal ensembles of a new generation. With "beautifully blended voices of individual distinction" (The
Independent, London, U.K.), the all-male foursome delivers its signature fusion of historically informed performances in a range of styles. Interspersed among a program of sacred masterpieces from Tudor England are four new works by British-Norwegian composer Andrew Smith, adding a modern harmonic richness and complexity to the program. The result is a compelling synthesis of ancient and contemporary vocal music. Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors and students, sold only on concert night.
