Your Donation to Haiti Relief Could Be Tax Deductible for 2009!
People who give to charities providing earthquake relief in Haiti can claim these donations on the tax return they are completing this season, according to the Internal Revenue Service. Taxpayers who itemize deductions on their 2009 return qualify for this special tax relief provision, enacted Jan. 22. Only cash contributions made to these charities after Jan. 11, 2010, and before March 1, 2010, are eligible. This includes contributions made by text message, check, credit card or debit card. Summer Volunteer Opportunities

Recently, Bishop ONeill announced the purchase of the new Diocesan camp and conference center property near Woodland Park. It is a wonderful facility and this summer will be your first opportunity to experience it and help build it up to become, in Bishop ONeills words, it will become a vital part of our life and ministry as a diocese.

Our vision for the summer is to call people in the diocese together to Build a Place Set Apart. Through the many work projects that need to be completed to make the facility ready to welcome guests, we will work to lay the foundation for this wonderful new camp home for us and for the broader community. To build this foundation with love, prayer and care, we need help from you and your congregations -- help from your hands, your hearts, your gifts, and some help from your wallets.

There are many types of donations and volunteers that are needed, everything from tool donations and financial donations, from kitchen help to trail builders to skilled professionals such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and nurses.
