Saint John’s Parish Choir and Saint John’s Cathedral Choir are semi-professional ensembles for adults and advanced youth. These are both auditioned choirs. The Parish Choir provides music for the 9:00 am Sunday Eucharist and occasional Diocesan services; the Cathedral Choir provides music for the 11:15 am Eucharist, Evensong, and other special occasions throughout the year. The Choir is some 35 voices strong. If you have experience singing in choirs, can read music well, and are willing to commit to the choir schedule, please consider joining one of these groups. All volunteers start out in the Parish Choir and begin singing all the hymns and service music; based on individual ability, newcomers are gradually "folded in" to the choir, singing more complex material as familiarity with the repertoire and sight reading skills allow. Please contact Stephen Tappe at 303-577-7726 or

Throughout the academic year (Sept-May) the Parish Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 6:45 to 8:30 pm. The Cathedral Choir rehearses from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. Rehearsal on Sundays is at 8:25 am for the 9:00 am Eucharist and 10:15 am for the 11:15 am Choral Eucharist. These choirs are closed (with rare exceptions) to new members from the Feast of All Saints (Nov 1) through the Feast of the Epiphany (Jan 6), and from Candlemas (Feb 2) until after Easter.

The Cathedral Schola Cantorum
The Cathedral Schola Cantorum is a group of singers selected from the ranks of the Cathedral Choir for the purpose of singing music which must be quickly learned, requires smaller forces or which is highly technical. Members of the Schola are appointed by the Director. Contact Stephen Tappe for more information.

Summer is the best time of year to join the choir!
The Cathedral Choir is open to new membership during the summer months, and there is no audition required for summer membership. Our rehearsal time is reduced and personal time commitment is far less than during the regular program year. For information call Stephen Tappe, Organist and Director of Music at 303-577-7726 or

Saint Martin's Chamber Choir

Belgian composer Joseph Jongen (1873-1953) is remembered for several organ works, the most festive of which is his Mass for Choir, Brass, and Organ. Coupled with this exuberant work are the complete works for brass and chorus by Anton Bruckner (1824-1896) – six pieces of power and majesty that couple brass (and sometimes organ) with chorus. A sonic tour de force to crown our season with splendor!
